Who: Both male and female
performers who enjoy singing, dancing, or both, preferrably ages 14+. (We will make exceptions, however, so contact us if
you are under 14 and interested in performing with us this summer).
What: The "A-Z
Musical Revue: Pop Icons" is a night of musical performances from a variety of artists from 70's musical group Abba to current
pop sensation Britney Spears.
Where: The
auditions and rehearsals for the revue will be held at 110 Pleasant Street in Marlborough, MA at Grace and Truth Chapel.
(Note: While rehearsals are held in a church, the revues are in no way associated with religion of any kind). The performance
will be held at David Mindess School in Ashland, MA.
When: A day of open call auditions will be held on Thursday between
4:00 PM and 9:00 PM (auditions take approximately 15-20 minutes), and appointment only auditions will be held on Friday from
12:00 PM until 7:00 PM. If you cannot make it either of these days, please contact us about working around your schedule!
What to Come Prepared With
For the vocal audition, you will be asked to sing verse and a chorus (a cappella) of any 2 songs that
fall under the Pop or R&B genre (this gives you MANY possibilities!) -- 1 uptempo, 1 ballad. (We may only need to hear
you sing 1 of the 2 songs, so sing the one which you feel more comfortable with first).
A completed
audition form. If you do not have a chance to fill one out prior to the audition, there will be plenty of forms available at the audition
site.
For the dance audition, Jeff and Laura will look towards the level of dance you have selected on your form
-- Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Based on this information, you will be categorized into one of these three groups
and taught a piece of choreography by Laura and Jeff. Beginners - "Come on Over" by Christina Aguilera; Intermediate - "Drive
Me Crazy" by Britney Spears, and Advanced - "Rumors" by Lindsay Lohan
A resumé and headshot are recommended, but by no means required.
We suggest that you bring bottled water and shoes you can easily dance in.
Note - All auditions will be recorded (either audio or video) for future deliberation.
